The IB are breaking all the records!
Vendée Globe: three wins for the IB:
Banque Populaire, Hugo Boss and Maître Coq were the first three to complete the Vendée Globe 2016-2017… And they all had Ino-Blocks on board! The Ino-Rope team thanks Armel Le Cléac’h, Alex Thomson and Jérémie Beyou for the trust they showed in us!
The IB may only be a small piece of the puzzle that this unbelievable human and technological adventure is, they did contribute to holding the IMOCAs’ masts! On board Banque Populaire, the IB were on the wing mast‘s rotating system – like on Hugo Boss – and on the backstay. On Maitre Coq, the IB also took position on the backstays and on the wing mast’s rotation system but also on the foils controls and mainsail (downhaul).
The race is not over for the Ino-Blocks, since they equip a third of the Vendée Globe fleet! The Sables d’Olonne are about to be invaded by hordes of IBs with the much awaited arrival of the Swiss Alan Roura, whose IMOCA La Fabrique includes 44 IB!
Trophée Jules Vernes: another record for the IB!
2017 began in the starting blocks for our IBs! Armel Le Cléac’h touched down by wrapping up the Vendée Globe in only 74 days, with 4 days advance over François Gabart’s time, in the previous edition. With Alex Thomson breathing down his neck, he could only sail with his foot down!
Francis Joyon and his crew rammed it home on 26th January by pulverizing the record of the Jules Verne Trophy: 40 days and 23 hours, that’s 4 days less than Loïck Peyron, in 2012! The IBs on board the IDEC Sport maxi trimaran still can’t quite believe they sped through the days on an average of 36 knots!
Ino-Ending and IB 27: Happy shopping!:
The Ino-Rope catalogue got heftier after the Christmas holidays. The heavy load IB 27 is now available for sale, just like the Ino-Ending, the cable ending with its integrated block for backstays, runners, downhauls, etc.
